Sustainability

As a business we try to do the right thing, whether that's ensuring our packaging has zero plastic, roasting our coffee in the most eco-friendly way possible, sourcing ethical beans, to planting trees. We believe we have a responsibility to be as conscious and sustainable as possible, because there is no planet B. We also know sometimes its hard to be completely perfect, that's why we value progress over perfection!

Zero Waste

We're extremely proud to say that our coffee is roasted using locally collected coffee grounds in Dorset. The coffee grounds are collected and turned into coffee logs, which then fuel the coffee roaster. We drink over 2 billion cups of coffee a day, yet spent coffee grounds are usually regarded as waste when in fact they are an abundant, energy rich resource that should not end up in our landfills. By using this closed loop technology, an otherwise wasted material is put to good use roasting our delicious coffee and diverted away from landfills. Hooray!

Our Packaging

alpaca coffee plastic free coffee bag

Our coffee bags are 100% plastic free and compostable. Made from cornstarch, kraft paper and bio-materials. Best to rip up and pop into your council food waste collection, or if you like, your home compost, where it will biodegrade in around 30 - 50 weeks.

Our labels are also plastic free and can be composted too! You can rip these up alongside our coffee bags where they will be stuck onto. All inks and glues are plastic free as well.

We're using the world's first bio valve. They are the best valves on the market and are completely compostable - what's not to love?! Best popped into your food council bin along with the rest of the bag.

Planting Trees

one tree planted alpaca coffee tree planting

For every 10 bags of coffee we sell, we plant a tree in the Amazon Rainforest in partnership with One Tree Planted! A single cup of coffee produces around 60g of carbon from crop to cup, whereas a single tree planted can sequester 1 ton of carbon in its lifetime.

As trees grow, they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.

Great coffee that's better for the planet? Yes please! Grab a bag of coffee now!
