Alpaca Coffee Guide to Pour Over Coffee
In recent years, the specialty coffee scene has embraced pour over coffee and there has been much discussion about the best techniques and tools to use. Even though it may appear complicated, making coffee this way is incredibly simple and yield greater flavor intricacy than your coffee machine.
☕ What is Pour Over Coffee?
The pour over method involves pouring hot water through coffee grounds in a filter. Water drains through the coffee and filters into a carafe or mug. This creates a clean-tasting brew with a slow extraction of flavour from the beans.
Pouring coffee over is all the rage for a good reason. It produces coffee that’s more rich and balanced, delicate yet complex. The paper filter removes additional residues and oils from the beans to give them a purer taste. Pour-over coffee is, therefore, a great way to taste Alpaca Coffee's single-origin and original blend specialty coffee.
Many also find the process meditative. It is just you and a few simple tools. There are no electronics, no moving parts that break easily, and no hefty maintenance or cleaning costs. Taking a moment to have a quiet moment makes the early morning (or really at any time) more peaceful, and separates it from the busy pace of the modern world. It helps to calm your mind, give you a moment to reflect, and revitalize your creativity.
